Men are the most prolific race in Nadra, and perhaps the greatest. Where Elves are creatures of nature, men seem to be beings of iron and stone, hardy, long-lived, and resilient. Men are the builders, the organizers. Under men, cities and empires can arise, and mankind has given rise to some of the greatest and most despicable leaders in history.
Men are the creators of written script, the founders of maths and sciences, the stargazers. Mankind is the only race to bend nature to their will, the first farmers and engineers. As industrious as other races may be, it has always been the place of man to expand and conquer. Where elves or others may be content to remain where they are, men reach out and colonize.
Unfortunately, men are also reputed as the masters and originators of war. All of the great wars have been waged between men, and all manner of weaponry has been invented by them. Although there is much glory to be found in battle, it hardly counters the bitter reality of war.
Still, mankind provides another boon to the world, in the form of Enchanters. The source of their powers is unknown, but somehow they are capable of casting spells and enchantments upon objects. Through these spells, men can use the power of will to create many diverse effects. However, the Enchanter’s power extends only over energy. Where it comes to manipulating living things, an elvish mystic is required.
